Isidora of Tabenna is venerated as a Fool-for-Christ in the Orthodox tradition, commemorated in the Orthodox calendar. The fools-for-Christ took upon themselves the appearance of madness in order to mortify worldly pride and to prophesy hidden truths to those around them.
