Ordo / Taxis
Order — the proper ordering of liturgical and ecclesiastical life; divine order as a theological category.
Taxis (order, arrangement) is the term for the proper ordering of liturgical and ecclesiastical life. In theology, taxis is one of the attributes of God: the Trinity is a taxis (the Father is the source, the Son is begotten, the Spirit proceeds — in a proper order without hierarchy of value). In liturgical practice, the taxis is the Typikon: the right ordering of services, feasts, and readings. The concept expresses the Orthodox conviction that order is not merely human convenience but reflects the divine logos.
