Year
See Liturgical Year — the complete annual cycle of feasts, fasts, and commemorations.
The liturgical year already defined under Liturgical Year. The Orthodox liturgical year begins September 1 (the Indiction) and is structured around: (1) the fixed cycle of saints and feasts; (2) the moveable cycle based on Pascha; (3) the weekly cycle of the eight tones. The three cycles intersect to produce the full liturgical calendar, which the Typikon coordinates with elaborate rules for when cycles coincide or conflict. Every day of the year has its specific saints, readings, and hymnography.
