Phronema
The Orthodox mindset — the way of thinking, feeling, and judging formed by immersion in the Church's tradition and worship.
Phronema (from phroneo, to think, to have a mindset) is the characteristic disposition, outlook, and way of perceiving reality formed by immersion in Orthodox worship, theology, and spiritual practice. It is the 'mind of the Church' — not merely an intellectual position but a formed habit of soul. Losing the phronema — adopting Western rationalistic or individualistic habits of thought — is considered more dangerous than explicit heresy.
