Menaion
The monthly liturgical book — twelve volumes containing the variable hymnography for each day of the year.
The Menaion (from men, month) is the series of twelve liturgical books (one per month) containing the fixed-cycle services for each day of the year: the troparia, kondakia, canons, and stichera for the feast of the day. The Menaion provides the 'saints' propers' — the texts specific to each saint or feast — which are combined with the Octoechos and Triodion/Pentekostarion to constitute the full liturgical calendar.
