Feast
A liturgical celebration — the sanctification of time through the re-presentation of the saving acts of God.
A feast (heorte) in the Orthodox Church is a theological event: the re-presentation in the liturgical year of the saving acts of God in Christ. The Twelve Great Feasts commemorate the principal events of the Lord's life and the Theotokos's. Above them all stands Pascha, the Feast of Feasts.
